[Japanese floor mattress] The futon, Japanese traditional style bedding, is a type of Japanese mattress used on the floor at night for sleeping. This Japanese bed is traditionally rolled up during the day when not needed to free up some space in the room.

This Futon mattress is delivered compressed in a vacuum bag. After opening the vacuum bag, the Futon mattress will gain air and return to its original thickness. Wrinkles may be present on the Futon but this is not a defect, please air for a few hours. On a dry, sunny day, dry the Futon on both sides for about two hours each. The Futon will gain air, becoming fluffy and soft.
When the Futon becomes dirty, please spot clean and dry well. This Futon cannot be washed in a washing machine. Please refer to a dry cleaner or a Futon company.
Store in a dry place, with the mattress on the bottom and the comforter on top. If the Futon will be stored for a while, it should be dried first and stored in a dry place with the covers removed. Dry the Futon on a regular basis even if not in use.
